5? kingdom of Ayuthia. Rani&dhipaii is his sacred name. He established many cities, palaces, monasteries, rooms Qiuposalha and ceiiya. He reigned for 19 years till A. D. 1369. II—RAMESSURA (A. D. 1369-1370) The king Ramadhipati was succeeded by his son Rjirsessura. He came to power when he was 30 years old. According to our Pali Annals, he reigned for only one year, but according to all other versions Ramesiten reigned only for one year. It is significant to note that though these kings of Ayuthia belonged to the Thai' stock, yet they had been Hinduised like their predecessors. The Indian culture and civilisation began to influence the royal family as before. Ill—PARAMARAJADHIRAJA (A. D. 1370-1388) The next king, according to the Siamese text, was Paramarnfadhirnja (Borommaraxathirat), but according to our Pali Annals his name was Banu- Mahanayaka^ the maternal uncle of the second king Ramessura. He is said to have usurped the royal throne. According to the Siamese text, he bore th3 title of Khun Luang Phongua. Bradley calls him the brother of the wife of Chao u Thong, the first king.
