Section 430 (42 U.S.C. 285c-4) is amended by striking subsection (k) and redesignating subsection (1) as subsection (k). Subtitle H—National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases SEC. 136. NATIONAL ARTHRITIS AND MUSCULOSKELETAL DISEASES PRO- GRAMS. Section 436 (42 U.S.C. 285d-l) is amended— (1) in the section heading, by inserting "AND SKIN" after "MUSCULOSKELETAL"; (2) in the first sentence of subsection (a), by inserting "and skin" after "musculoskeletal" each place it appears; (3) in subsection (b)— (A) in the matter preceding paragraph (1), by inserting "and skin" after "musculoskeletal" each place it appears; (B) in paragraph (1), by inserting "arid skin* after "musculoskeletal' each place it appears; and (C) in paragraph (2), by inserting "and skin" after "musculoskeletal ; and (4) in subsection (c), by inserting "and skin" after "musculoskeletal". SEC. 137. MULTIPURPOSE DISEASE CENTERS. Section 441(bX2XA) (42 U.S.C. 285d-6(bX2XA)) is amended by inserting "and rehabilitation from" after "treatment of. Subtitle I—National Institute on Aging . SEC. 141. CENTERS OF GERIATRIC RESEARCH AND TRAINING. Subpart 5 of part C of title IV (42 U.S.C. 285e et seq.) is amended by adding at the end the following new section: "CENTERS OF GERIATRIC RESEARCH AND TRAINING Contracts. "SEC. 445A. (a) The Director of the Institute shall enter into cooperative agreements with, and make grants to, public and pri- vate nonprofit entities for the development or expansion of centers of excellence in geriatric research and training of researchers. "(b) Each center developed or expanded under this section shall— "(1) utilize the facilities of a single institution, or be formed from a consortium of cooperating institutions, meeting such research and training qualifications as may be prescribed by the Director; and "(2) conduct— "(A) research into the aging processes and into the diag- nosis and treatment of diseases, disorders, and complica- tions related to aging; and
