James Fletcher found large numbers of this plant grow- ing on hummocks on a damp prairie tour miles south ot Brandon, Man., in the beginning of July, i8qy. Apparently the commonest species in British Columbia. Easily separable from .S. roseus by 'ts simple habit and non- geniculate and much shorter peduncles. This species is recorded in Part iv of Macoun's catalog-ue of Canadian Plants as having- been tound in Elgin Co. No specimens were collected and later investigations have forced us to the conclusion that the pjant noted was E. albidum. Lloydia serotina, Reich.
