THIS OUfi Lift ...

We have compiled this book not so much to fulfill a task as to preserve a record of our years at Sacred Heart. Herein we have attempted to present the joys and pleasures, the work and achievements, and, above all the persons who made our lives here so happy and rich. Containing the souvenirs of so many cherished memories^ this book represents to us some of the happiest years of out lives. We hope tiiat all who read it will grasp the spirit of companionship and affection which was integrated in our lives at Sacred Heart.

The passing years can never efface the memories of these, our classmates - our cherished friends who made our lives so happy with their smiles and encouraging words, sharing in our joys and sorrows, A large place in our hearts will always be re- served for the Latin American girls who gave us a glimpse into a fascinating and beautiful way of life. As we leave these hal- lowed portals let us hope that we will always be true to the principles and ideals of our Alma Mater.

Playing a very important part in our daily lives were our activities, which served to balance our routine and initiate us into the social amenities of life. Never was work enjoyed so much as that which was put Into our basketball teams, our newspaper, our Sodality, and our student council - and how wonder- ful was the feeling of accomplishment when a game was won, a newspaper edited, or a Sodality project completed. Always eagerly anticipated were the dances and parties, climaxed by the beautiful May Day festivities.
