<reviewbody>Another Ultrasonic studios session bound to be one of the largest downloads here at archive.org.

Pre-FM half track master reel quality carefully mastered to perfection. Frankly, it is a better session then the 1973 set. Tighter and more refined.

Enjoy this gem that luckily ended up in our willin' hands in Tucson, AZ. :)</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>As Jim hints at in the text, I have been the custodian of this tape since 1978, and am very glad to be freeing it to the world at this time, especially with this wonderful transfer. This has been my personal favorite Little Feat show for years running, and after hearing the transfer we did on Saturday, I was blown away! Detail and power in the performance only hinted at in previous tries. For those of you familiar with "Electrif Lycanthrope" you will be hearing this with fresh ears. For those fresh to the experience... enjoy!

addendum(10/19/04): The 45 minutes included here is all there was on the 7 inch tape. I've heard the "encores" mentioned and they don't seem to be from the same session. Any more clues?</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>Wonderful, I agree with others that this might be one of the penultimate live performances by any band. I owned the TAKRL vinyl, I have the complete 2CD on prestage, but this upgrade blows away the older versions. One question though, where's
Cold Cold Cold/
Dixie Chicken/
Tripe Face Boogie ?
these 'encores' were included on the pre stage 2CD and normally should have been on the pre broadcast master I think. Any clues ?

revision; the so called encores on the "complete lycanthrope" cd release are from the WLIR Ultrasonic 1973 sessions, not from 1974.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>I have had this on analog tape since it was first aired on "WLIR Garden City is the Radio Station" It is all but shot and to find it here load and clear makes me feel young again. My only quibble if I dare is that some little bit of stage patter has been edited out as when during Willin' Lowell goes to take a drink during the refrain he states that it was not bourbon in his glass but rather "moo juice" in this edit he just says OH. WLIR had such great concerts on Tuesday night if I remember correctly I used to tape them all the time( Guys like David Bromberg and Harry Chapin) and this one was one I held onto for a long time. Now I listen with a smile again</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>I recorded this on reel-to-reel from WLIR in '75 or '76, and Cold Cold Cold > Dixie Chicken > Tripe Face Boogie do end the show! Also on the version I taped, Oh Atlanta is after Rock and Roll Doctor, not near the end. This is a great show with superb quality except for the one fan who must have been screaming right into a microphone! <reviewbody>This was available on a bootleg vinyl, called "Electrif Lycanthrope." Liner notes claimed that it was recorded at a wedding, but I see now that it was not. Quality here on the Archive is mo betta than I had on the LP, and not just because I don't have to listen to that nasty scratch flow by 33 1/3 times each minute. Owning that bootleg back in high school of course made me the most popular lad on campus, envied by blonde-maned quarterbacks, ambitious student council presidents and the punk whose daddy bought him a Trans Am for his 16th birthday. "The Fan" from this session is on "Hoy Hoy," available in finer record stores. Drawing on the cover of the boot looked a lot like what ended up being the cover of HoyHoy, so I always wondered if the boot was a semi-official release. I'll probably die without knowing, but hopefully not for a long long time.

Download this, and for the gods' sake, turn it up.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>I must say, in my limited experience with Internet Archive, my overall impression has been "Why bother with FLACs or SHNs to 'preserve' the sound of an audience recording that simply isn't that good to begin with?". Will the MP3 conversion really make a difference? This one, however, is a happy exception to the rule. I heard some people on here say that it is "near CD quality". I submit that it sounds much better than many commercial releases from the same era. My heartfelt thanks to the band (of course), Jim Blackwood & Dave LaRussa and especially to whoever it was at WCMF that did the nearly perfect mix that created the two track from which this was mastered. This show is in every way a true joy that I will listen to over and over.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>Last time I saw The Feat was the fall of '78 at Sienna College. Won tickets on WRPI. Little did we know at the time it would all be over 10 months later.
Sort of a lie. I was standing in the lift line 2 years ago one March day at Killington and I said to my son, "sounds like a Little Feat cover band playing in the parking lot." Turns out it was them. . . .
Jim, don't know who you are but thanks!!!</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>I had this set on vinyl in '75 and played it so much there's not much left of it now. It stood head and shoulders above the studio versions the band had recorded at the time, and i believe captured Lowell and the Band at the peak of their talent. The brass 'enhanced' versions from this session that appeared on 'Hoy Hoy' sound so fake they dont do the band any justice at all.Included here are the definitive versions of Allan Tousaint's 'On your way down' and 'Spanish Moon'- somewhere i look for every saturday night- let me know where it is- Well done the engineer for posting this on the web from the original master tape, thanks, and hat's off to you!.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>The absolute best version of this song ever! I saw them 2X in the summer of '79, in San Diego and the Long Beach (or suburbs therein)</reviewbody>
