My only quibble if I dare is that some little bit of stage patter has been edited out as when during Willin' Lowell goes to take a drink during the refrain he states that it was not bourbon in his glass but rather "moo juice" in this edit he just says OH. WLIR had such great concerts on Tuesday night if I remember correctly I used to tape them all the time( Guys like David Bromberg and Harry Chapin) and this one was one I held onto for a long time. Owning that bootleg back in high school of course made me the most popular lad on campus, envied by blonde-maned quarterbacks, ambitious student council presidents and the punk whose daddy bought him a Trans Am for his 16th birthday. "The Fan" from this session is on "Hoy Hoy," available in finer record stores. Drawing on the cover of the boot looked a lot like what ended up being the cover of HoyHoy, so I always wondered if the boot was a semi-official release. Will the MP3 conversion really make a difference? This one, however, is a happy exception to the rule. I heard some people on here say that it is "near CD quality". I submit that it sounds much better than many commercial releases from the same era. It stood head and shoulders above the studio versions the band had recorded at the time, and i believe captured Lowell and the Band at the peak of their talent.
