When in this condition they can be shipped further north. These plants have stood a temperature of 8 to 10 degrees above zero without injury; the land freezing, or the plants being covered with ice, sleet or snow, after they were planted, did not injure them. The top of the plant does not grow until your regular spring weather opens up, but the roots grow from the time they are planted. No more satisfactory plant could be found; they succeed in all parts of the country, in any kind of’soil, but will, of course, do better in rich soil, well prepared.
