WINSTON-SALEM TEACHERS COLLEGE
Establi'J'Krd for Negroes as Slater Industrial Academy. 1892. State- supported since 1895.
AS WE GO FORTH
As we go forth from old T. C, A song of love we sing to thee— And praises to the memory Of days at Teachers College. Thy sons and daughters bring thee fame Through knowledge which ue here ha\c gained Exaltingly, we raise thy name O Winston-Salem Teachers College.
As we go forth from old T. C,
Good leaders we ivill always be
And stand for Christianity;
As you have taught us, Teachers College
In all we do we shall proclaim
To all the world thy teaching fame.
As we go forth we raise thy name.
O Winston-Salem Teachers College.
THE PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
This 1951-1952 issue of the "Ram" appears at a critical period in the history' of our nation. Great tensions, fears, and anxieties seem to prevail everywhere. Tlie Winston-Salem Teachers College continues the responsibility of preparing its students for citizenship and service in this crisis. The young people of our locality, state, and nation are the greenhouse within which our hopes live; and, within an uncertain atomic age, our task has grown considerably more difficult— training teachers in even wider academic and co-curricular activities than may be indicated within the covers of this book. Our task includes deep concern with the full exercise of democracy and with a rendered dedication to the basic principles of our founders.
Friends, students, and alumni of the Winston Salem Teachers College welcome the annual appearance of the "Ram." This year's issue is a worthy succes- sor to all the talented productions that have preceded, and I am confident all the readers will join me in my most hearty congratulations to this year's staff.
Sincerely Yours,
F. L. ATKINS, President.
