Seth Yacavone Band April 11, 2003 Paradise Rock Club Boston, MA source: (FOB) Neumann km184 -> PS-2 -> transformers -> mod SBM-1 -> D8 (@ 44.1 kHz) transfer: Fostex D5 -> optical cable -> Hosa ODL-276 -> S/PDIF coax cable -> EgoSys Waveterminal 2496 -> CoolEdit 2000 (fades, edits) -> CD Wave v1.71 -> mkwACT 0.97b1 fades, edits: Fades were added at the start and end of the set. At first, I had the levels set too high. For a period of approximately 2.5 seconds, right at the beginning of the first song, I used Cool Edit's "clip restore" feature. You can hear that it does not sound as good as the rest of the recording, but it is better than having a 2.5 second section with wicked loud distortion. And it's only 2.5 seconds, the rest of the recording is great :) taped and transferred by: Jason Sobel (jasonsobel@hotmail.com) notes about recording gear: The mod SBM-1 has been modified by Doug Oade, and is his complete line stage rebuild modification. The transformers used between the PS-2 and mod SBM-1 have a rating of 600:30k ohms. They are RadioShack transformers, and provide 12dB gain when used with this recording equipment. general recording notes: The mics were run ORTF, they were 8 to 9 feet high, and the stand was about 6 feet back from the stage lip, dead center.
