Ornamental Pomegranate

A New Christmas Plant

The seeds should be planted in flats in the greenhouse and
when they are of suitable size to pick off, they should be
planted in 2-inch pots and a little later in 4-inch pots where
they will get established. As soon as the weather warms up
sufficiently, they could be shifted to cold frames in the full
rays of the sun and brought back into a forcing temperature
about the last week in August and forced’ in a temperature
of 60 to 65 degrees for the Christmas trade. They come into
flower early, but the first flowers should be kept “‘nipped”’
until well on in September when they will begin to take on
a general crop which will make them salable in December
