Respectfully, ALABAMA NURSERY COMPANY. REFERENCES. For the convenience of parties who do not know us, we refer to any of the banks or business houses of Huntsville ; Storrs & Harrison Co., Painesville, Ohio ; C. W. Reed Nursery Company, Sacra- mento, Cal. i} | ee NS offered in this list is grown here on our own grounds. Trees are not dug till ready for packing and shipping, so customers may depend on receiving stock fresh, sound, and in first-class condition. SO 02] Our Nursery is convenient to the Depots and Express Offices, and orders can be packed and shipped promptly. Telegraphic orders can usually be shipped the same day as received. : : 5 - ; : Weare so situated that we can hold stock ordered by Northern nurserymen until they will want it for spring packing, thus avoiding all risk, trouble and expense of cellaring. 2 : E c oe As this list is sent to the wholesale trade only, the differ- ence in price between the one hundred and one thousand lots is very small—enough to cover the extra cost of handling the smaller l6ts. Standard trees are tied in bundles of ten; 2 to 3 feet and smaller trees, berry bushes, grape vines and roses in bundles of twenty-five. Orders for less than five hundred will be charged at one hundred rate. For more than five hundred, at lowest rate quoted. 4 ALABAMA NURSERY COMPANY?’S Packing and Packing Cases. Our packing season usually begins October ist, and continues through the winter till March 1st. The work of packing is personally superintended by a member of the Company, who has had fifteen years’ experience. We packin moss. No pains will be spared to make our packing as good as the best. The cost of cases seven and one-half to nine feet long, thirty inches, is $2.50; twenty-four inches, $2; eighteen inches, $1.50. Bales, 25 cents to 75 cents. No charge for drayage. Bales cost a higher rate of freight ; so, as far as possible, we ship in cases. Shipping. Please state how goods must be sent, whether by freight or express; also route. If no directions are given, we will ship as we think best serves customers’ interests, without assuming re- sponsibility. The risk and cost of shipment belong to purchaser. Freights. Orders from nurserymen in the North or West for less than car lots we can usually combine, and make up car loads to some principal city, where bulk can be broken. In this way custom- ers will save freights and possible delays. We invite your cor- respondence on this point. Grades. We grade carefully ; in some cases by caliper, others by height. When by both, the caliper must govern. The lower number is included, and the higher number excluded. For in- stance, in a grade of four to five feet, four feet trees are included, but five feet go into the next grade. If plump five feet trees are wanted, the order must be for five to six feet. When possible, we prefer to send samples to prospective customers. Caution. We accept all orders upon the condition that they shall be void should any injury befall the stock from frost, hail, storm, fire, or other cause over which we have no control.
