Thanks once again to everyone who pitched their favorite 1978 shows in response to yesterday's plea for guidance. The following 16 shows were cited by at least two people. The ones with stars were cited by three (*) or four (**) people:

**01-22, **04-12, 04-15, 04-16, 5-14, *07-08, 8-30, 09-02, 09-16, 10-17, 10-21, *10-22, 11-20, 11-24, 12-19, 12-30

I'm likely to dl more than these, but this should be a grate starter kit for 78 newbies like me who want to take advantage of the 78 project underway at Lossless Legs.

BTW, I've left off the list 2-3, 2-5, 5-11, and 12-31, since they've been released commercially, in whole or in part.

I can't believe no one mention 4/24/78. It's got, a truly magnificent Scarlet-Fire (for me it's the best ever), and the rest of the show is great to boot. Archive surfers should not over look this show!

Dear Lou,

I'm sure you saw my post from yesterday (http://www.archive.org/iathreads/post-view.php?id=135770); just wanted to reiterate that the offer to burn '78 shows for you stands. Most of my '78 collection consists of low-gen. soundboards (including Betty 'boards) and high-fidelity audience recordings. If at any time you decide you'd like some shows by snail-mail, just post a message and we'll take it from there.

Best,
deadhead66

Hey, thanks a lot for the offer! The Lossless Legs 78 project looks to have pretty much all of the available sources, and I've got plenty of bandwidth to dl torrents, so I'm going to go that way. You may be interested in checking out the project to see if they have anything you don't yet:

Lou,

Do me a favor if you could ... report on how the 1.22.78 show sounds. I listen to the mp3 with the first three 2nd set songs AUD patched.

I'm baffled 4-24-78 isn't mentioned either. Also, 10-21 creams 10-22 hands down. A must have show.

I would love to download using a torrent client at sites like Lossless Legs, but unfortunately I'm unable to do so at this time because I don't own the modem I use, and so I cannot perform the necessary port-forwarding to make such downloading work in a realistic (i.e. time-effective) manner. Right now I'm limited to trading by snail-mail -- which works well, when it happens. Thanks anyway for the tip.

Best,
dh66

Lou,

You're missing the best show of 'em all, 12-28-78. I couldn't respond yesterday so here you go!

And you're the second to cite that show, so you've effectively promoted it to the list!
