Welcome to the Conference Proceedings collection

Hey all,
Just wanted to post a message to highlight this new Conference Proceedings audio collection, featuring speeches, talks, and roundtable discussions from tech conferences, preserved for the future with the permission of the rights holders.
As you may have noticed in the collection description, there are lots of people to thank - Chris DiBona for having the original idea and sorting out the permissions, O'Reilly & Associates for giving permission to put up lossless-quality versions of some of the talks from the Emerging Technology and Digital Democracy 2004 Conferences, Doug Kaye for the audio capturing, uploading, and metadata work (transcripts and MP3 versions of the O'Reilly keynotes uploaded so far are available on his IT Conversations site, we're keeping the lossless WAV versions for posterity), the Zap Your PRAM organizers for already having uploaded their conference speeches (we just slurped them sideways into this collection!), and most of all the speakers for their words of wisdom.
Going forward, it looks like we may have more O'Reilly ETCON 2004 lectures and speeches to come - we're still figuring out a good pipeline for digitizing those sessions Doug didn't capture, however.
Also, we'd love people to upload the full audio proceedings, ideally in WAV format (the Archive automatically creates derivative versions) from any tech or other conferences, as long as you're the rights holder, of course - either the author who's retained retransmission rights, or the conference organizer, or both! Just upload into the Open-Source Audio section and we can take it from there, or mail me at simon at archive dot org.
