Hey Will Tell, Sorry for the delay man. Saw your reply to my Check This Little Ditty Thread. If you can force yourself to listen to 1981 I would recomend The Wheel form MSG: http://www.archive.org/details/gd81-03-10.glassberg.wise.7630.sbeok.shnf In the 80's and early 90's the did some fine Wheels from out of Drums>space. And speaking of the 90's I like the 7-16-90 show from Buffalo http://www.archive.org/details/gd90-07-16.sbd.knapp.1316.sbeok.shnf AND I'm sure there has been a Wheel thread before so what are some of the other forumites Fav's later year Wheels??? I know there are some Killer mid 80's out there.

Another outstanding 81 Wheel. http://www.archive.org/details/gd81-08-28.sbd-patched.painoman.9572.sbeok.shnf Here is a poem syd the cat wrote about this wheel. Reviewer: sydthecat - 5 out of 5 stars - August 16, 2006 Subject: My Favourite Wheel There are Wheels from '76 that I adore And a few myself have seen before That blew my mind whether stoned or no On many things (but never blow) But of all the Wheels under the sun This is my fave and I mean bar none. It ain't that this one is the best Or just 'cause it was played in the West It just touches my heart more than the rest And that my friends is the only test.

I like the Early Wheels my self, I think it was one tune
that Donna did well with. Espicially like the 76 wheels and 77:)

Excellent choice on that Wheel, truly a great version.

PS. Believe it or not I am actually pulling for the Yanks as I feel anything other than a Sox/Yanks rematch would just leave kind of an empty space in the season.

Thanks guys! Tom & Wharf...

I have to admit it: you are RIGHT about Donna! She is perfect for this song. Though I really like the stark, simple version from Garcia's first album, the ones I have heard from mid 70s (even managed to 'see' it a few times live) ARE quite nice with her in the mix.

Now, isn't this a nice, fine little forum today!? Way to go all!

WHARFRAT thank you so much for the Wheel and Rat you posted yesterday - never heard them before and really enjoyed them. If I may offer one more for WT's collection, how about this show (and the Stella Blue is worth trying too) http://www.archive.org/details/gd81-10-06.sbd.polgar.3303.sbefail.shnf
I seem to be listening to a lot of 1981 at the moment and damn fine it is !
