I don't see Recall linked to anywhere, and it seems that the researcher access search which used to be so useful is now gone. Recall hardly works at all and it rewrites your search queries to make them useless.

Recall is still in beta, but it hasn't moved from the three places you can access it:
On the Archive front page, if you type in a word instead of a URL and press "take me back", a Recall search will be performed.
You can also access the Recall search engine by clicking on "web" in the top navigation on our site. And finally, you can go to recall.archive.org

Good Luck!

Perhaps the FAQ should be updated.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Can I search the Archive?
Using the Internet Archive Wayback Machine, it is possible to search for the names of sites contained in the Archive (URLs) and to specify date ranges for your search. However, we do not yet have an indexed text search of the documents in the collection. We continue to work on it and should have a full text search soon.
I also wanted to add that the search doesn't work. I have entered several queries, such as my name, which I know is on the Internet and has been, and my nickname, which is also a word, and although there are some spikes on the graph there are no resulting web pages.
For example, I came here searching for text related to a specific MUD that was played in late 1997 (Rock: Conflict of Interests) and was hosted briefly by bbs.tcbi.com. Doing a search for "tcbi" i get a huge spike of activity during the time frame i expect: http://recall.archive.org/?query=tcbi
but the catch is that it doesn't show any web pages!
Maybe I am doing something wrong?
Thanks.
Well, as was said, it's in Beta, and it's being worked on. It will be around and it will get better, and the index will get larger. It doesn't always work as expected, and depending on the changes it's undergoing, it may appear unusable at times.
However, it's a great technology, and although the timing of the article and slashdot postings may not have been ideal, I'm sure that patience will be rewarded.
More details during the week, and thanks for the interest.
Yep, at some point, we'll re-write all the FAQs. It's on the ToDo List.
As for Recall, Anna got hired by google, so she fixes it in her spare time now. Also, Recall is only indexing about a third of our web collection, so it's possible that we haven't got your particular pages in the engine yet!
