Many thanks Ashes! These little things help me put "it all" in perspective. Even the not-so-nice things I've learned here about Jerry (his H habit or his bathing habits, for example) help me. Thanks folks -- I haven't read any books on Jerry or Grateful Dead. I have a great violinist/fiddler (virtuoso) friend who for his entire life (I've known him 35 years) bathed even less than Jerry. And his home is unkempt as hell. But the boy sure knows music!
Bluegrass and the Dead are inseperable. The following Dead tunes are Bluegrass standards: Cold Rain and Snow, Big River, Sitting on Top of the World, I Know You Rider... just to name a few. Not to mention Jerry's banjo playing.
Ashes, thanks for going out on a limb with this the other day, and then following up here with your great resources today. And guys, thanks for giving me and Ashes slack here.
