Re: one more to move - A Boy and his Dog |
The letterboxing used is so you may enjoy the film as it was intended to be shown in its orginal form ie a theatre presentation. The pan and scan form basically fits a panavision format and changes to the fit on a television set. In short, by changing the format means altering or redirecting the presentation. On IA's site is a film called McClintock. A 1963 movie with John Wayne. For your enjoyment, they have it in both Pan and Scan as well as Widescreen format. The colors and sharpness (clarity) are better in the letterbox format while the Pan and Scan presents it rather blurry and washed out in color.
