Rhino Records has politely asked me to take down Speeding Arrow, so I have immediately done so. I'll let you know if Rhino ever changes it's tune, but in the meantime I'll be joining the fray over here a little more than I have in the past. Thanks, Zephyr

A wise man once said, 'Let us focus first on the need and desire to love. The origin of our desire to love lies in our profound need to value, to find things in the world which we can care about, can feel excited and inspired by. It is our values that tie us to the world and that motivate us to go on living. Every action is taken for the purpose of gaining or protecting something we believe will benefit our life or enhance our experience.'

With that in mind, I offer my deepest gratitude, Zephyr, for all you've done to share the love. I hope your wonderful site will rise again somehow, maybe in a more covert form hidden from the forces of darkness.

Zephyr,

Thank you very much. I throughly enjoyed your site. The message board will be missed. I knew things were getting crazy because the membership jumped so much in the past few days/weeks. I saw new members every day.

Anyway, good bye to Swamy, Greenfox, Darkstar, and everyone else.

Send me an email sometime, bud. I still got your sticker on my guitar case.

Darkness shrugs and bids the day goodbye. Thanks for your efforts. Your site brought some happiness to my life. I hope your quick response keeps you out of trouble with the Rhino suits. Maybe Rhino will let me pay to download some of these gems and not just keep them locked away. Either way, you shared your energy without benefit to yourself, this is big stuff in these times. Thank you.

how much of this is due to a bunch of people around here..... openly referencing the arrow in the last week? including some one or more people directly linking to the site?.... i am sure i am naive but, i doubt it is a coincidence.... you can only advertise "free counterfeit here" so many times before the fed is gonna come around looking for a sample. and when it looks as good as the real thing.... the days of free money will quick be a thing of the past. OH WELL, ZEPHYR.... the arrow had a good run.... thanks for enabling people to experience this amazing body of music.... the likes of which EVEN THE RHINO BOSSES don't know AT ALL what to do with. to them it's a museum piece they need to sell tickets to - to the heads around here, it is our every day lifeblood... no sunday outing, for sure..... "openly referencing the arrow in the last week? including some one or more people directly linking to the site?.... i am sure i am naive but, i doubt it is a coincidence..."

some assholes were even posting links on Dead.net. Talk about being a fucking stupid mindless cretin. I warned the Speeding Arrow and GD files guys about this BS a couple of weeks, after finding those links myself. It didn't take Rhino long to pull the plug on them either. JP's won't here much longer either, as the search is on for archive alternative sites.

Now we have a pretty good idea of the fate which met GD Live. They went away, not long after the ten year contract was signed with Rhino maybe 2 years ago...

Thank you so much. My life and the lives of others has been very enriched by your efforts. I am somewhat saddened by Rhinos approach I do hope they were not too abrupt. After all the care you took to make sure no commercial releases were included in the availabe shows, I understand people have to make a living but perhaps its the hippy in me that hoped the Shangra-La that was your outstanding site would be missed by the MAN. I however have much to thank you for and much to backup, so i had better get at it. Oh one more thing...THANKS ALOT FOR POSTING LINKS EVERYWHERE YOU FREAKIN KNOBS!!!! ON DEAD.NET??? Sometimes i despair...then i put on a show and let the four winds blow me safely home.

Peace brother/sister and again THANK YOU

Skippy

Yes Thankyou Zepher for making it so easy for lazy, greedy heads like myself to easily amass our own vaults. I finished 6 spindles worth of GD covering everything on your site back in 06. Revisited a few months ago to see if you were still around and found plenty of JGB as well. Thanks!!

Can only add my fond thanks to Zephyr--I know not who you are but you added great joy to my life through our shared appreciation of this incredible music and YOUR dedication to making it available, especially to techno-challenged individuals like me....

....and to those who undoubtedly led to the Arrow's demise by adding links on forums including dead.net when Zephyr specifically warned you not to and it was painfully obvious TO ANYONE WITH THE BRAINS GOD GAVE GEESE THAT YOU SHOULD NOT, I can only say 'way to go, geniuses...hope you're happy now.'

Morons everywhere ruining it for everyone else. Nothing new under the sun, I guess.

That's too bad, my friend, but let me add to the chorus of "thanks" above with my own.

And, it comes from one that NEVER even used your site. As the good Doctor points out elsewhere, there are so many ways to SHARE that cannot be controlled that I had never even felt the need to use your fine service.

Nonetheless, its passing gives some small discomfort as just as "knowing" the wilderness exists is good for the soul even when one doesn't partake of it, knowing you were doing what your were doing was good for mine indirectly thru all the fine folks here that spoke so highly of it...

Zephyr - thank you so much for all the time and effort you put into hosting what was a very fine resource. I hope Rhino were indeed VERY polite in their approach to you because you were always so scrupulously careful about not making available a single track on Speeding Arrow that was available commercially. As Dr Flashback said elsewhere, most of this music is never, ever, going to be released commercially. We'll just go on finding ways to share.

On a positive note - I'm glad you'll be spending more time with the merry band of misfits here on the gd forum. Good luck with all your future ventures.

As others have said, I want to thank you so much for what you have provided us for quite some time now. It was a great site and you provided us all with a wonderful opportunity to acquire or even stream (i would actually stream unzipped files on occasion) GD and Jerry shows. Congratulations on what was a great run.
