Phil continues his run through the catalog |
Aoxomoxoa and Live Dead at the Warfield
As Phil Lesh counts down the final days of the Warfield Theater with his current group, he continues to work his way through the Grateful Dead's recorded catalog. On Tuesday, the first night of Phil & Friends five show run, the group covered Grateful Dead and Anthem of the Sun. Last evening Lesh charged onward, delivering Aoxomoxoa and then Live Dead. Mark Karan joined the group on guitar during the second set take on the celebrated live release. Karan also sang lead on "St. Stephen" which appeared twice during the evening, while Lesh handled vocals during the Aoxomoxoa set. Phil & Friends are off tonight but will return to the Warfield on Friday.
Little known fact (at least to me) Courtney Love can be seen on back cover of Aoxomoxa

5.
Hank Harrison is her Dad; his connection with the band in those days is well known.

harumph? I'm not sure what that means - I certainly wasn't trying to be a dick (it just comes naturally - just ask Dire).

it's not a word. it just my way of expressing my surprise. You know that "eyebrows raised, surprised sounding, slight head tilt with a nod" way of saying "No shit?! Guess I missed that one"

Know it? Hell, I spend half my day doing variations of the same. Thanks for the clarification.
