Tens of thousands of Music Lovers scrambled into Washington DC for this famous weekend. This was first time for the Dead at RFK Stadium. Somewhere between 60,000 and 100,000 of us made it inside the Stadium each day. Dead played 1st on Saturday. Allman Bros played 1st on Sunday. We all know the Sunday show is legendary. It's loved by countless thousands of us. The 8-hour show by GD on Sunday was a momentous Modal Spectacle - with the jam w/ Dickey Betts, Butch Trucks, and Merl Saunders at the end.

It was The Sound System that was so extraordinary for this incredible weekend. By far, this was The Best Sound I ever heard come out of a PA System, period. It was an Orgy of Sound. Both days - the "proto" wall of sound is nailed! The Grateful Dead, The Crew, Alembic, and The Engineers "set the bar" for Best Sound on The Planet. It all began on Saturday, June 9th - the "little brother" show to June 10th. It's been over-looked for all these years.
