I continually get a "553 Disk full - please upload later" error when uploading to http://www.archive.org/details/ThreeRiversCommunityChurch2009Sermons.

Initially, I was able to access Item Editing but now get the error message "The item you are trying to edit does not have metadata or the metadata is not parseable.
It will need to be rebuilt or fixed first."

Can you please fix the problem? They must be related.

Thanks,

Brena

ok, our FTP uploading has gotten rather flakey recently.

we just pushed live our new "browser based" editor.
can you visit your item /details/ page again now
and click on the new "Edit Item" link near the upper
right corner of the page?

you can delete, rename, and add new files to your item
that way (and it should be a lot more reliable!)

the item owner has it "checked out" -- the place where *files* can be changed, deleted, added (vs. the "edit item" link which will allow for metadata/information changes). so check the item in first and then you can edit the information on it again.

I am still having problems. Neither 'Edit Item' link works for me. The new 'edit item' link you suggested gives the error "The specified item was not found "live" in the US cluster or does not have metadata."

This is for http://www.archive.org/details/ThreeRiversCommunityChurch2009Sermons

Thanks,

Brenda

you (or whomever it is who has the item checked out)
have to check the item in first.
if it is you, go to the item manager and hit the "check out" button
and then go to the link on the page that it gives you to
"check in" the item...

(the "beta" system does not require check out and check in...)

Right. I did the check out but now can not access 'edit item' page. Old edit item gives message 'The item you are trying to edit does not have metadata or the metadata is not parseable. It will need to be rebuilt or fixed first.' New edit item give message 'The specified item was not found "live" in the US cluster or does not have metadata.'

I can not use edit item.

Disregard. I used cached history page and was able to access checkin function that way.

I have the same problem when trying to upload some missing movies from my Edison Collection http://www.archive.org/details/EdisonMotionPicturesCollectionPartTwo18991902. I'm using gFTP on Ubuntu Linux and when entering the item menager and then uploading files I've got this messege: 553 Disk full - please upload later. Several weeks passed and still nothing

working now -- the item was "checked out" recently (and information/metadata cannot be changed during that period) but is now "checked in".

Thank you for the new upload system. It seems so good.

But when I tried to upload files, it finished so quickly and said "upload completed". And couldn't upload again.

I think there is some permission or quote problem on my account.

Note: I am running firefox on ubuntu 9.04. Before the web upload interface, I tried Filezilla on ubuntu.

you should only have to go to the /details/ page (which it makes a link for you to go to when your updated files are ready)
and then hit the "Edit Item" link again on the /details/
page to change files again/more.
