Video Cellar;
I saw on your list Dr Jekyl and My Hyde with sir Cedic Harwicke. It also stars Michael Rennie as well in the duo role. Do you know of anyone that has said recording?

Re: PD Information. All help is appreciated. |
I do have a copy - complete and uncut with intro, Chrysler ads and station ID. I have been meaning to upload it for a long time - ever since a copy with strangely similar tracking problems to a DVD I made off my video turned up on a Mill Creek boxset.
Expect to see it in Classic TV in the next day or so after I get some of the 1959 Hancock episodes uploaded.

Re: PD Information. All help is appreciated. |
great to see that I'm not only in good company as far as hosting a PD movie show, but also in my confusion re: what is and is not PD
I contacted Mill Creek about their compliations...and I quite literally LOL'd when I got their form letter reply stating that "copyright status is confidential"...
thanks for the list!!

Re: PD Information. The Brain That Wouldn't Die |
This film was registerd for copyright in 1988. The registration is below:
The Brain that wouldn't die.
Type of Work: Motion Picture
Registration Number / Date: PA0000399511 / 1988-09-29
Application Title: The Head that wouldn’t die.
Title: The Brain that wouldn’t die.
Description: 1 videocassette (VHS) : sd., b&w ; 1/2 in.
Copyright Claimant: Rex Carlton Productions
Date of Creation: 1959
Date of Publication: 1962-10-31
Date in Notice: notice: 1960
Copyright Note: C.O. correspondence.
While it was first published in August 1962, the film was made in 1959 and carried a copyright notice stating 1960. A published film from this time's first copyright term began during the year contained in the notice, regardless of whether that notice reflects the publication date (a predated notice of less that 28 years was acceptible if a timely registration and renwewal was lodged, but a post dated notice of more than one year is considered a faulty notice.) For this movie, a renewal registration was required by 31 December 1988 for the copyright to endure into the second term. No such renewal was lodged.

Re: PD Information. All help is appreciated. |
Hi Video-Cellar,
I'm posting a follow-up question to your list. This list has Medusa (George Hamilton, 1973) as TV-safe, but the list skybandit had compiled of what you've previous noted as PD/not-PD as of 1/12/10 (posted here:
https://archive.org/post/285670/are-these-public-domain ) lists it as Unconfirmed with "No Notice, Can't Confirm Publication Information, but Probably GATT/URAA." Is "TV-safe" slightly different from Public Domain or is this film safe to upload to the Archive? If the latter, I have a copy ready to go.
