I have seagates and hitachis and have had no problems with any of them, but I only run them when I need to access something on them. Each one is backed up with another though just in case.
With 1TB available now for well under $100 you can save and backup lots of data.
But as I stated before, back up anything you save with HD`s to play it safe.I know people who use CD and DVD for back up,but I just use more HD`s...

So, I have my entire DEAD collection, easily, on that one little HD, and it connects easily, and FAST, with all computers it encounters.
Of course, this is only 65-71. And I am not a completist, but you get the idea.

Just concentrate on the best (as you are).
Maybe extend to '72-'73.
I am trying to get into '77 but the duplicated, plodding drumming is driving me up the wall.
The things that make it 1/2 worthwhile are the "Peggy-O's" and the instrumental breaks in the middle of the (otherwise plodding) "Friend(s) of the Devil".
Keep on Truckin'

They have deals all the time and always free shipping.
I personally prefer Western Digital hds, but I also have had no problems with Seagate.
