Okay this is a true longshot but I thought I would ask anyway. The Film "A Matter of Life and Death" Is it possibly PD? It showed in American Theaters as "Stairway to Heaven" when I first saw the film on Big Screen. Awesome movie!!!

Also If you have time are any of the Henry Aldrich movies PD?

A Matter of Life and Death was renewed (R568515).

The 12 Henry Aldrich movies were registered by Paramount and transfered to and renewed by EMKA Ltd, now controlled by Universal.

A keyword search at USCO for R568515 turned up four recorded document records for A Matter of Life and Death aka Stairway to Heaven (1946) all of which say Registration Number Not Verified: R568515. Does this have any affect on the movie's copyright status?

it just means that the renewal number was not checked when the document/list was submitted to USCO.

The full renewal record is:
R5685I5.
Stairway to heaven. By Universal
Pictures Company, Inc. 12 reels.
(C) 31Dec46; L1015. Rank Film
Distributors, Ltd. (PWH); 21Jan74;
