"My old tape of the Roosevelt Stadium Show from August 1974 (DP 31) has a great baseball quote - How come all you people here aren't at the Met's game - from jerry to which Bobby responds - yea, your mets need you and where are you, you're here - pretty funny stuff..."
Cool, that's the show all right. The tape I mentioned had
some other wisecracks that were only semi-audible, the
words Canada and Toronto being the only really comprehensible words.
Thanks very much. Pretty funny stuff, indeed. Loved that old-timey stage banter. Bob's atrocious joke about the
hunter with the deer on his shoulder is only slightly more
tolerable than his legendary yellow-dog-alligator story.
If you listen to the start of DP 25, you can hear Jerry in
the background saying," I've had enough of your shit, asshole, I'm not going to play anymore..." But he did and
the boys turned out a truly kick-ass, if somewhat inebriated show.

Obviously cogniscent of the baseball fever gripping NYC at that time as the Mets clinched the National League penant, the band tuned Take Me Out To The Ballgame at the Cafe au Go-Go...
