hi all,
the majority of our stored content got a huge OS upgrade this week (monday and wednesday).

we updated about 600 machines, performing nearly 3600 reboots!
(we had to spend a lot of manual energy updating bios for a better way to manage our machines, etc.)

enjoy a hopefully slightly better/faster experience and hopefully we didn't mess anything up! 8-)

Hi Tracey,

Can you get someone to get the archive off
Symantecs Unsafe site list.

Their automated crawler shows 4 hits for
Virus infected files.

I haven't seen any in a major item.

Thanks

Hiya Miss Tracy, Forgive me for hijacking this thread but I have an upload question,

With the new upload system is it possible to upload more than 100 files? At The old time radio group many pages hold more than 100 files and I am about to upload upgrades. A while Back I uploaded 1100+ superman episodes but at that time I could only queue 100 files and even after they uploaded I couldnt re queue any others. I am afraid to delete existing files if I cannot replace all the Files on a single page.

Here is an example of one of the pages I need to upgrade.

Thanks for all Y'all do.

i think so. there is a queue limit to how many things can queue up... checking...
looks like 100. but that (i *think*) can be sort of worked around by selecting 100 files at once, submitting (watch them upload), select another 100 files, submit (watch them upload), etc...

however, i do want to caution that once you add up all our derivatives (where applicable and the source files allow and can make derivatives) (usually about 2-4 or so per original file) plus the original files, that our system can start getting a bit taxed (hello wonders of XML 8-) ). i've generally cautioned that 1000 or more files in an item is going to start making that item serve noticeably slower. so you *may* want to consider breaking large numbers of files up into a bunch of items.

1100 prolly is ok, but once you add the derivatives (if they derive), we're now talking 2200-3300 files in the item. if the files are audio (those are small by our standards) you can try it out and see how the page loading goes, etc.

we've had some absurd items with 20k files in them, and they often just spin the "waiting" icon for a long time and then don't serve at all. anyway, just thought some boundary cases that i've observed may be helpful...
