Anyone know of a great 1978 show by the Grateful dead (w/optimum sound)?
Some favs of mine of include the Shrine (1/78) and Mami (12/78). It's always fun looking, but just looking for some thoughts outside the box.

The Giants Stadium show right before Egypt is crackling with raw energy. The Good Lovin->Scarlet->Fire to start the second set is the best. There's not another Scarlet like it. Jerry's fingers sing like Zeus playing a trumpet from atop a cloud. You can FEEL 75,000 of your closest friends smiling from ear to ear. Get it.

4/6/78 is good. You have to get the opening Bertha from the audience version, but the rest is very nice soundboard. Every song is real solid. Nice solos in Bertha, nice Other One->Wharf Rat... exellent Candy Man... etc. etc.

This show I think many have and it stands as my fav of 78. 7-8-78 Red Rocks. I may be bias because it was my 1st RRs show but from the opener Bertha to the E) Werewolves of London the show is killer. Try it!

04-16-78 is a great sounding show and well played...

12-31-78 is one of the all time shows, but I'm sure that you knew that already...: )
