Now technology has advanced far enough along that a virtual library was created, fulfilling Phil's dream but it exists outside the band's control. Another leap in technology called IPod, with its massive public acceptance, now permits the never stated but apparently underlying premise of the library -- the unlimited ability to charge $15.99 or more for library "books". I am not necessarily saying Phil is behind all this. Unless times have really changed, it is well-documented that all major business decisions were made by the entire band. The same band that let MG be barred from Jerry's funeral and that showed its priorities when they dragged a pathetic wretch who clearly needed serious medical help along on 1995 tour that ultimately killed him.
I am bothered by what happens to the work that many individuals did gratis to reconstruct and improve upon many of the soundboards that were on the LMA. GDP will most likely ignore these individuals and pocket the profits.

The new capitalist pig policy doesn't even mention the matter of shows broadcast on the radio and in wide circulation for many years. The New Riders consider these fair game according to David Nelson.
RATDOG banned SBD taping in 2003, except for the shows already in circulation. Bob Weir then adopted the Govt Mule audience tapes only policy. And now he's into that cruise ship nostalgia tour scene.
I wouldn't put sanything past Deborah Koons after her ridiculous COURT TV show trial in Marin County.
