I use archive.org for publishing my podcast. I now switched to enhanced podcasts which means I use .m4a files. This file type is an mp4 type and as such is a rich media file type. however: when I try to burn a feed via feedburner, archive.org always returns a mime type of plain text, not rich media (of any type). Can anything be done about that?
What's especially strange is that for two podcasts things worked fine, but now it's screwed up again...
Pleas help!

One such file would be my latest podcast:
http://www.archive.org/download/tdaonppodcast20enhV2/tdaonp_podcast20enhV2.m4a
This file is returned as plain text, not an rich media (mpeg 4) file.
Hope this helps. it's probably just a case of instructing the webserver to return the right media type.
Kind regards,
henk

thanks for the example. the reason that i had asked for a specific item was because i was pretty sure we had recently made m4a files be served with MIME type "audio/mpeg" from another request.
some of our apache servers needed to reload their config to update their MIME mappings. so doing fixed this item for me.
please let us know if you still have problems at this point!

Well, i tried again with the link mentioned in the previous post. Still no go, I'm affraid. This is what feedburner returns:
Link: http://www.archive.org/download/tdaonppodcast20enhV2/tdaonp_podcast20enhV2.m4a
Content Type reported: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1
Media enclosure not created because: The content type returned from your host server was a text type, not a binary media type. Podcast content should always return a binary media type, such as audio/mpeg for audio, or video/mpeg for video.
So I guess this server is still working on an old config(?). I know that the feedburner people are very willing to help sort this out but they can't do more so long as they get a text/plain type returned. Maybe you or I can contact them if you need specific info?
It would be great if this could be resolved because lot's of people now use the m4a format. On the other hand I can imagine that you people must be very busy with what is essentially a free service (with a view to recording material for future historic reference) so please don't break your heads over this one. After all mp3 works, albeit without the enhanced content.
Kind regards,
henk.

i'm using it today again and verifying that it is serving
the content with the "audio/mpeg" MIME type.
(results below).
notice how the initial "download" page gets automatically redirected to another page where the item actually is.
wget "follows" that 302 and gets the url being told to
redirect to. is it possible whatever you are using to
determine it is returning "text/plain" is not processing
our redirect?
