I'm looking to upload the DMB & Bela Fleck and the Flecktones compilation. It's an 11 disc compilation that was extracted and converted to SHN. There's no original source because it's a compilation, but the tracks are 100%. I'm wondering if I would be allowed to upload them, though it's a compilation.

I'm not the one making the decision on this one, but if I had to guess I would say this isn't the place for compilations. Quoting above: "The Internet Archive has teamed up with etree.org to preserve and archive as many live concerts as possible for current and future generations to enjoy. "

What you are offering to upload isn't a concert, even though it may contain parts of many.

I agree with Brad. And furthermore, the Archive's system requires a specific date for each concert entered, so it would have to be changed to accept compilations.

I am not a music buff, so I may be off base.

Is the compilation a creative work, in the sense that it brings a new view to the music? If it would be like a collage piece, and interesting because of that, then I would see that preserving that creative work would be worthwhile. If it is, on the other hand, more of a good set list for a party or something, then it would not seem to warrant the resources required.

Could it be archived as a set of pointers into the archive? could that kind of playlist (which are quite a bit smaller, but could be quite interesting) be something we could support in some way?
