I'll enlist if you hold my hand /or When are you going to fix my Radio?
Martin definitely has the "HOTS" for Bob. He is masking it with an interest in electronics in order to get Bob (the love of his life) closer, nearer and talking. Bob is the real guy in this picture, he has a girl he's banging, he's self assured, has confidence and speaks like a real man. Oh! and by the way can also fix a mean portable radio. Martin on the other hand is a loser with no self-esteem, is very confused and apart from watching all the men in the showers wonders weather he sould be there at all. Poor little frighten Martin, in the mess hall he says "Oh what if I can't hack it" as he constantly gazes into Bob's eyes. Hoping, that Bob will reach out and touch him, anywhere. Or perhaps Bob will put his arms around him a say, "Don't worry baby, I'll be with you every step of the way". Alas the ploy does not work and Bob goes off to join his tough navy "Good Buddies", and answer that letter to his sweetheart back home who thinks he's "A VERY SPECIAL MAN"

(Does Not Star The Village People)
Martin asks Bob to look at a radar, as a ploy to get him alone. Bob senses this, and asks Martin if theres something on his mind. He pauses.. Whoa! Coming out and making a pass? Nah, Martin is just looking for more Navy training. Darn.
Anyways, this film tells you of the many levels of electronics training you, yes, you, can get from the Navy from the moment you sign up. So this is one big gigantic recruitment film. Of course, since this IS electronics were talking about here, ½ of the men there come from 60s geek nirvana, plenty of wide rimmed glasses galore. Somewhat dry, but has some fun moments along the way.. Like wondering what happened to Martin and Bob once the cameras were turned off (fwap fwap fwap)
