Subject: Won't You Be My Friend?
Mr. Black sits around in his suit all day in his house, but doesn't have time to play with his dog, Tippy, or even go looking for him.
Nice guy.
Tippy chases after a suburban rabbit (that looks like it has an injured back leg) and then runs around town looking to make friends. He stops by a house disguised as a dog pound, with a ridiculous piece of creased newsprint labelled "City Dog Pound" masquerading as a sign. This suburb even has an organ grinder with a monkey!
The film is narration over silent footage with sound effects, with the narrator occasionally expressing the thoughts of the characters on screen when he's not asking questions ("Will Jimmy and Tippy meet? Will Jimmy ever find Tippy?").
You can guess how this one ends if you can stay interested that long.

"Tippy, Our Town Dog" is a simplistic story for little children. It reminded me of the "Dick and Jane" reader books in the 1st grade. This 1940's film is aimed at children who were less sophisticated than now.

Oh dear. We laughed so hard at this movie that it would be hard to give it any other rating. The narration and skips are just hilarious. "Has Tippy found a friend ? The firemen have to go to go to the fire. Tippy is left alone again". But I shouldn't give away the plot. Will Jimmy find Tippy ? That's up to you to find out !

Pretty moronic tale of Tippy, who is owned by a Mr Black, the town mafioso it seems as he's seen in nothing but high tailored suits (much like the Dad in Shy Guy), a totally uncaring master for Tippy, a Benji-lookalike except a lot my grangy. Anyways Mr Black has no time for tippy, so it goes out trying to look for a playmate after failing with a bunny and a German Shepherd (Remember when your town was so quiet you could let your German Shepherd run loose)? Tippy wanders the streets, with no purpose. Before a grisly conclusion can be reached (A Day in The Death of Tippy D.?) along comes Jimmy, who rescues the dog after Mr. Black has no time for the mutt. LOL. Very very strange. Reccomended!

An absolute headshaker of a film about a "friendly" terrier named Tippy owned by Mr. Black who gets out chasing a rabbit "to play". This film is obviously aimed at small children, but you really have to question the motivation for the film. As Tippy wanders around the town, he looks for "someone to play with," starting with a German shepard, then an organ grinder's monkey(!), then the dog pound, and finally a fire station.
Then Jimmy, who plays with Tippy comes home from school to find Tippy missing. Mr. Black will give Tippy to Jimmy if he can find him. At this point the narrator completely forgets what happened in the first half of the film as Jimmy retraces Tippy's steps.
In the end, Jimmy finds Tippy, but you have to wonder what his mother will say when she finds out that they have a new dog...
This is the sort of film that makes your head hurt if you try to follow the logic of it, but makes great bot-fodder.
