Metallurgy is one of my pet interests. Always fascinated me. This film shows a ton of things about aluminum...and it was made back in the day when 2 out 4 people couldn't even pronounce the word. One of my very favorite movies. 5 stars.

Now this is an industrial film! It not only has lots of excellent factory tour footage, but it shows how little metal tags off things are made, a real fascination of mine. It also shows all kinds of neat-looking aluminum products, such as hardware, kitchen utensils, office furniture, architectural details, bottle caps, aluminum foil packaging, and license plates. All of this stuff is accompanied by narration that says how modern and futuristic it all is, while the designs, when looked at from todays perspective, are all charmingly retro. I guess this film proves that the future has officially become the past. I only wish it was in color, so that we can see brightly-colored aluminum tumblers in all their glory, and that it had a Mr. Product, like Aluminum Man in Aluminum on the March.

Another look "what you can make from theis product!" movie, but this time, it's mainly focused on the chemical processes aluminum has in order to to gets beautiful shine (lol). Nothing too memorable here, except for the title credits, which has an imaginative use of a metal buffer...

Well, it seems like a pretty cool video, though there's a very obnoxious hiss throughout. Strangely, the music seems ok, but the narration is slowed by 60-70%, so it's difficult (but fun) to understand. I haven't finished the video yet, so the narration is most likely out of sync too.
