I need to digitize some video tapes but I don't know which conversion program is better or worse? Most reviews I read for Roxio, etc.
said that the software was no good, and some said the audio was out of sync.
So I was wondering which programs the uploadeders were using?

To do it correctly for best results, you would need some expensive hardware. High end VCR, Capture Card, & Time Base Corrector. I don't have any nor was I willing to pay the money it costs for all of that so you can use a Roxio capture device and I would use Virtualdub for your capture software and then use Handbrake to encode if you wanted to.

Go on ebay or any online store and type "VHS Converter" .
There are a lot of usable cheap products. I use a small usb dongle with three RCA jack and it works good enough.
Clean your VHS heads.

I copy VHS and Beta to a DVD recorder. Does a good job for me. Sometimes you need a black box.
