"endless circle of madness that won't go anywhere but to insults and ugliness"

Yeah, when people insist on posting proven false information, over and over again, and clinging to their slogans and lying talking points in the face of overwhelming factual evidence - that is an endless circle of madness, alright. When the battle is over but you can't stop fighting, that is an especially sad little form of madness.

Thank goodness we have such moderate voices as Mr. Collector here, because we all know he would never do anything like that ...

Who is still fighting? Are you reading my latest posts? It's over man, lighten up. You can stop with the insults and personal attacks (obama won).

Other people's opinions are not "false information" "slogans" and "lying talking points", I liked that you threw in "clinging" as well, speaking of taling points and freudian slips. This is what people do when they cannot refute another person, they disregard their position altogether, that sucks and you know it.

Just like I told your partner in crime, I am done. I won't debate or engage in conversation with anyone who invalidates the other person's views and opinions, especially when they use more propaganda than me but seem to think the other person has no basis in fact at all. It's pointless.

I am only saying this so that you know why I am not engaging and don't think you have power enough to drive me away or silence another citizen for your own personal gain of cyber power ( I ran on a bit with that as a joke in a way, stop taking things so seriously, jesus)

Whatever happened to you that made you that jaded against half the country won't let you even reason with me, for that you have my sympathy. I hope you can one day learn that things are not always 100% one way. Have I ever said "there was WMD"? No. Have I ever said "bush does not talk like a moron sometimes"? No. Did he AND the congress AND wallstreet AND the borrowers AND the realtors AND the lenders act irresponsively and allow the crash on wall street? YES. Can you admit to anything that you or your side has done wrong? I think everyone here will agree that's a big NO.

I won't argue politics with you, I won't even read your posts anymore because I feel you don't really read mine, which is what I should have done in the beginnning and none of this would have happened. That is me admitting fault again and I don't want you to be confused and think it's some trolling tactic or whatever you people think I am up to. Shit, I can't figure out where the hell some of you are coming from honestly, but I won't initate attacks on you for having an opinion, that's idiotic. Blame monte for starting this whole thing, but even he is fairly nice to others that disagree (even if he was a bit harsh on the subjects of his posts, oh well freedom of speech had it's quirks).

If I heard one person say, "poor people need more help" it would have carried a hell of lot more meaning than personal attacks, wild unfounded accusations and popular conspiracy theories from rage against the machine lyric inserts. Stick to the facts and people won't walk away from you during disagreements.

Ever think of taking a position that the other side would be receptive to? Try appealing to common interests and beliefs? You should try it some time, it would work a lot better than just calling people names and ignoring evidence from the other side, shit even the most morally bankrupt defense attorny examines the evidence the prosecution provides, they defend their client under the constitution and try to exclude evidence, but at least they fucking look it at.

Next time try "my family needs healthcare" instead of "bush is hitler" or "I think church should be seperated from state" instead of calling religious people retards (I would have not even argued over that one to be honest...) and before you go off on me, no I don't remember who exactly said what and I don't care. I know 3 or 4 of you have just been relentless in dismissing anything that anyone said that was counter to your opinion.

Just food for thought from a gracious loser who won't whine or complain like a 3 year old who didn't get what he wanted for winter solstice. I hope this country does turn around and believe either cadidate would have changed things, we'll see whose change is better shortly. Either way, I don't care anymore, there is nothing more I can do for my country except join the army and if I don't find another job soon I just might... doesn't look like it will be as risky, hope they take me this time, my credit score is even worse than the last two times I was turned down by recruiters because of my debt to income ratio of all things.

That's all I have to say and I hope you read this far, I know it's not fun.

To all those that stayed out of all this, HOW THE FUCK DID YOU DO IT? I envy you.

For those like bluedevil that knew when a joke was a joke and when to laugh at yourself and be objective and acknowledge someone who disagrees with you, you are true blue man and are good people.

For those like william tell who probably disagree with me strongly on things but managed to carry themselves better than I ever could, thanks, we all wish more people we disagreed with were like you... well maybe not all of us.

For those that were just combative and disputatious for the sake of pissing others off or having blind faith in anything I quote ducats in closing.

blow me

So this is you not engaging. Okay.

Sorry, but there is no way I am reading all of that. My point was that there are such things as objective, verifiable facts, which are not subject to "differences of opinion." One example is the completely bogus document you posted, claiming it was an analysis of the candidates tax plans. It wasn't, but you continued to cite it even after that fact were established. In that same post, you claimed that you check all of your sources, which is clearly also not true. Not only did you not check your sources, you stood by your fake document even after being told it was fake.

There is a reason that you personally are unable to have a civil disagreement with anyone on here. It is your fundamental intellectual dishonesty: it's because you ignore evidence in favor of your own emotional response. How did a conservative like yourself ever become such an equivicator, anyway? I thought that we were supposed to be the big relativists, but you shame us all with your insistence that the facts are subjective when you want them be.

I paid a bit too much at the shop on a whim, only cost me $30 more and I got to take it out and "fire" it up to make sure it worked. There is a rechargable one but most ametuers are defeating the purpose if they are igniting materials over a certain temp and making smoke (see youtube for smoke filled bags). If you are seeing smoke, it's burning and you could do that a lot cheaper without one. Hell I was throwing away spent herbal blends after vaping them until one day I realized they are still good, albeit not as tasty or smooth, but I recycled several months worth and you can make pastries and liqours down the road. I was not here.

Another great image I have vis-a-vis our little family here is from that the great movie with John Cusack (if you like him, you love it, if not...don't bother).

Instead of the bar scene with Grendal and Earl, I can see the music store scene since there's room for more (sorry DEADHOOK!?!):

Cash register defence scene, Take 3.

Cusack: played by BD.
Jack Black: played by Rob.
Little guy behind the register: played by NC.

In walks somebody from DEADHOOK with a lecture to BD about being nice, not upsetting anyone anymore, NO politics, blah, blah, blah.

Next thing you know, BD is ranting, Rob is advancing with menace, and suddenly NC smashes the Hooker in the face with the phone...

Only works if you know the movie.

Hey, I'm in if I get my scenes with Lisa Bonet and a past with Catherine Keener

Tim Robbins cracks me up in that film.

True story: I was the Head of Strategic Command for Kathleen Turner Overdrive (KTO); in other words, short stint managing/assisting the band in Atlanta before moved to Prague. Features two of my old high school buddies Ray and Tim (drove Tim to buy his first bass; he is in drivin n cryin with Kevn Kinney, who does a lot of stuff with Warren, Lenny Kaye (Patti Smith), and Todd Snider. That's the name that Jack Black says his band was going to be in final scene of film - KTO's 15 minutes of fame.

Hey now! We're screwed up?

You've got to be kidding.

Where else can you come to find amazing insights regarding the most significant military events of the 20th century?

Where else can you come to find heart warming stories of personal stife and success?

Where else can you come to find a bunch of old farts and youngsters going at it like no body's business?

I think you'd be hard pressed to find a more diverse and informed and interactive disfunctional family.

As just one example, following up on NC's idea, I can just picture us at the bar following our reenactment of Stalingrad. There's Grendel, pissing off the red-neck locals. We all know it's going to get ugly. He doesn't want to, it's the last thing he would consider doing under any other circumstances, but there's Earl, coming from out of nowhere to deck the burly neanderthal that was about to put Grendel in a headlock.

Sure, I'm dreaming, but I can just see it...

Family is family. Sure we fight, sure we argue, but there's something here that binds us.

Glad that didn't offend. I know folks think that I am as sappy as can be, a regular pollyanna, but I do enjoy the majority of folks here, and find that though most all of us (well, okay, except for Ashes) can get down right cranky and uncivil in our thread battles, it generally works itself out, and many that have had extremely heated interactions often find a small bit of common ground...I know that I often learn something in the end by following both sides. Sure, there's a lot of hot air many times, but still...the "family" analogy fits pretty well.

I know that my wife and I have family members we won't talk to for another few days til they get over Tuesday!
