A Day With the FBI, listed at amazon.com as Day with the Federal Bureau of Investigation was produced by National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), a government body. There are no listings at USCO for this film. I'd say it's definitely PD.

Every episode of Blazing the Overland Trail has had its copyright renewed. For example, episode 1:

Type of Work: Motion Picture
Registration Number / Date: RE0000191574 / 1984-01-10
Renewal registration for: LP0000006912 / 1956-08-04
Title: Gun emperor of the west! By Columbia Pictures Corporation.
Series: Blazing the Overland Trail, no. 1
Copyright Claimant: Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc. (PWH)

Variant title: Gun emperor of the west!
Names: Columbia Pictures Corporation
Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc.

Sorry this has taken so long. There aren't too many PD items on the list.

A Day With the FBI (1951) PD
Brick BradfordSerial (1948) Copyright
BlakeScotland Yard Serial (1937) Copyright (feature PD, Alpha version copyright for new sound effects and ambient sounds.)
Blazing The OverlandTrail Serial (1956) Copyright.
Adventures of Sir Galahad Serial (1949) Copyright.
Don Winslo of Coast Guard Seria. Copyright.
Captains Courageous(1937,1977) Both Copyright 1933 Renewed 1977 reg'd.
Our Gang Follies of 1938 (The copy that was on IA is gone, it was from BlackhawkFilms) Movie is PD. Blackhawk prints have rights re new titles. I have an original MGM print if no one else has. I can put that up.
Any episodes of "The FBI" starring Efrem Zimbalist? All in copyright.

Raid on Entebbe (1976) Charles Bronson (For that matter any films about the Raid on Entebbe PD?). Raid on Entebbe (76) was registered and renewed ditto Victory at Entebbe (76). Operation Thunderbolt (77) is GATT'd.

I already tried Brick Bradford. It's still under copyright. Sorry.

I would suspect that "The FBI" is still copyright because it was a pretty hot property for it's day. I doubt that Quinn-Martin nor ABC would likely let it slip into the public domain but I could be wrong.
