Re: Sandinista (Non-Dead) |
To me, The Clash sounds more like a new wave dance band than punk rock. Never been able to get into them, although I love punk, ramones, sex pistols, black flag, etc.

Clash = new wave dance
Hey, if you don't like, you don't like, but I just want to see his passionate defense of "the only band that matters".

I respect The Clash as musicians but "the only band that matters?" That's sad but to each his own

Oh, I don't think they are the only band that matters, although I do love them (especially Sandinista), but that was the label that was pinned on them by fans back in the day. I just want to see Wordsmith go off on the power and glory of Strummer. Please don't think I'm going after you for your opinion (but if you say you like 93 GD....) because it is what it is. It's like many here don't appreciate Richard Thompson and I can't imagine the world w/o him.

No worries BD, would like to see the wordsmith chime in as well. Maybe there's something I'm missing that others can point out

Re: Sandinista (Non-Dead) PAGING WORDSMITH |
You guys launched me on a random Strummer chase, and happily found this quote:
“When you blame yourself, you learn from it. If you blame someone else, you don't learn nothing, cause hey, it's not your fault, it's his fault, over there.”
