At the current pace we will have 100k concerts in 3 months. Not sure if we will have 5k bands, but close.

(Tyler-- love that you are thinking of figuring out if we have 1M songs.)

What should we do? Really we should have concerts all over the country. Would this cost much or anything? Anyone up for such a bonanza?

We have accomplished something great together, lets keep it going.

How about a May Day 2011 with the Live Music Archive campaign and event(s)? The spirit is righteous, but it's short notice perhaps. Brewster, I would "like to be able" to invite you to become one of our keynote speakers for this year's Sustainable Living Fair, in Fort Collins, Colorado. I'm planning on meeting with some decision-makers Weds evening, March 23. Let me run this by them first. If you replied, "Yes, that's something I would like to do," I'm confident I could help make this happen. -- 12th Sustainable Living Fair, Sept, 17-18, 2011 in Fort Collins -- web page for previous Keynote Speakers You could discuss the Live Music Archive. Here are some Fort Collins connections:

• Downtown Fort Collins is well known for The Aggie Theatre venue. Often, you can catch famous eTree bands playing there. Dark Star Orchestra, Bela Fleck, and Leftover Salmon have performed at The Aggie over the past 24 months. The Aggie Theatre has 100 tapes on the Live Music Archive. Dark Star Orchestra is back again in Fort Collins, at The Aggie next month. DSO at The Aggie Theatre. Sat, April 16, 2011. • Nearby downtown Fort Collins is the famous Mishawaka Amphitheatre venue. The Mish has nearly 100 tapes on the Live Music Archive. The Mishawaka tapes are from eTree bands including:
Rat Dog, String Cheese Incident, Derek Trucks Band, Drive-By Truckers, Disco Biscuits, Hot Buttered Rum, Umphrey's McGee, Leftover Salmon, and Yonder Mountain String Band.
• Amy Goodman was our "blockbuster" keynote speaker for our 2007 Sustainable Living Fair. She hosts the Democracy Now! newshour program. They have a huge Collection on The Archive. Moving Image Archive > News & Public Affairs > Democracy Now! > Democracy Now's collection on The Archive. • Fort Collins is home to Colorado State University. CSU is growing. Please read their Journalism Cirriculum is morphing to incorporate New Technology announcement, released on Monday, February 14, 2011. Youtube, Facebook, and Twitter are all mentioned. Why is The Internet Archive not mentioned in this CSU News Bulletin? The Archive's Advanced Search Form provides the best access to all Archive Collections and Forums. Fact: this powerful resource is useful for students, scholars, teachers, professors, and Journalists. Regarding The Archive's social media usefulness:
The Internet Archive has proven to be an excellent social media resource. There are Forums here, and each Item can be Reviewed. The web pages for The Archive's Audio and Video Items feature an on-page embedded Flash Player. The Archive's engineers have designed a built-in "global sharing feature" for immediate sharing via e-mail, Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, Bebo, Digg, Orkut, and StumbleUpon.
• You could discuss "Internet Archive and Library Partners Develop Joint Collection of 80,000+ eBooks to Extend Traditional In-Library Lending Model." Fort Collins is expanding our Public Library system. They are adding more internet computers. Every internet computer has individual headphones. The Archive Collections are streamable to all Fort Collins library patrons. The Lincoln Center Events Center in Fort Collins is undergoing a major renovation. We have a new Fort Collins Museum & Discovery Science Center under construction.
Thank you everyone at The Archive, and etree. Let me know if you need some help with any of this. Happy 1 million tunes; Happy 100 thousand tapes; Happy 5000 bands. Thanks for hosting my donations. peace, Monte Monte's Taper Handbook

Mr. Barry,

Thank you so much for this information. Mt. Kahle has provided us a great service in making information more widely available and as such creates opportunities for a more informed community, and one better equipped to make sustainable decisions for the future.

We'll weigh this recomendation among the many we are already pursuing. Many of our speakers come through a direct friendship or relationship with someone in our community.

I appreciate your time and for thinking of us -

Off to do good work,

Turnberry, what bands have you sent approval for? We are a week or two behind in the setup queue, but if you list the specific band names, i'll set them up asap personally.

In addition to Blue Horizon, 'Capsule Corp' would like to start a collection page as well.

Thanks again

I have setup Blue Horizon. "Taste" was set up on March 8. I do not see an e-mail authorizing from the band for 'Capsule Corp'

please send that and we will get it setup.
