[audio]The Same Heart (hrtph013) - Jason Sposa / Mike Downey
The Same Heart's first murmur occurred when Jason Sposa and Mike Downey began collaborating on this EP's title track in the summer of 2009. After the song's completion both dug into their archives and picked previously unreleased songs to fill it out. The outcome is a candid peek into both artists' somber sides presented in the lower-fi frequencies. Official Release Page via heartphone

[audio]Audio Graves, Vol. 1 (hrtph009) - Mike Downey
AUDIO GRAVES is a 4 Volume 100-track collection of unreleased songs from my archives. In 2007 I issued a monthly podcast in which the process of digging through stacks of various media began. Some of these songs were included in those podcasts although unmastered and unavailable for download as single tracks. AUDIO GRAVES is the result of not only many hours of sifting through my archives, but a thorough look at the music I have been making for the past 15 years...

[audio]The Olivia EP (hrtph008) - Jason Sposa
Hello. My name is Jason Sposa. I am 28 years old. I live + work in the greater New York City area. I am married to the prettiest girl in the world + we have a beautiful little girl named Olivia Bee. For the past 10 years, I have been making music under various monikers, disguising myself behind a catchy name or phrase that made me, well, me. In the summer of 2007, I discovered that my wife + I were going to be parents...

[audio]Light's end...Love's Swell (hrtph007) - Sukpatch
Sukpatch is Chris Heidman and Steve Cruze. Formed as a stoned accident in the summer of 1990 while roommates in the dorms at Colorado State University, Chris and Steve began a long strange trip into their own world of crackly jacked beats, analogue backdrops and High Times poetics. Theyâve been heralded by those in-the-know as the pioneers of indiepop breakbeat (Want to call it indie hop? Fine.) and for good reason...

[audio]Kicking Gas for Laughs (hrtph003) - Mike Downey
In 2006 I was in full recording mode. No job; I didn't have much else to do. This continued through to mid 2007. I amassed a collection of songs so large that I freaked myself out and became overwhelmed. I was used to it taking 3-5 months for a record to come out after it was finished. Not really understanding what my options were at that time I kept these songs under lock and key until earlier this year when I plucked 12 of them out and released them digitally via my own imprint heartphone...

[audio]Radio Heaven (hrtph005) - The Eleventh Hour
Once upon a time there was a band from Chicago called Number One Cup. From 1993-1999 they turned their noses up at âthe Chicago soundâ and brought to the city (and beyond) a frankenstein style of indie rock stitched together of lo-fi perfection, affected, bent guitar rock and, in general, a much needed but all too under appreciated pop sensibility. For reasons unknown Number One Cup recorded 2 songs and released them on a 45rpm record under the name The Eleventh Hour in 1997...

[audio]Battery Home EP (hrtph004) - A Football Fields
A Football Fields is a collaborative situation in which Tinyfolk (Russ Woods and Meghan Lamb) and Mike Downey use the internet to send original music scores and vocal arrangements back and forth whereupon the two camps (being geographically located in Bloomington, Indiana and Stockholm, Sweden respectively) use each other's core materials to expand upon and birth additional life(s) into. The end product is the Battery Home EP and serves as the only documented to date occurrence in which the live...
