![[audio]](/images/mediatype_audio.gif) | Mary Stafford - Im Gonna Jazz My Way - Mary Stafford Mary Stafford sang blues primarily in the club circuit, but she also cut a dozen sides for Columbia in 1921 (she was the first black woman to record for Columbia). The full title of this piece is "I'm Gonna Jazz My Way Right Straight Through Paradise". It was recorded on March 7, 1921. The label credits "Mary Stafford and Her Jazz Band", but some sources I've seen credit Charlie Johnson's Orchestra with the accompaniment.
