[movies]Takeoff - Ryan Kawailani Ozawa
eparting Honolulu International Airport (HNL) aboard go! Airlines flight 1034, bound for Hilo (ITO). This short clip was recorded by request from Zac, who loves watching my last go! Airlines video just for the takeoff sequence. Even though low clouds and a dirty window made things a little hazy, I think it looks pretty good in 720p HD.

[sound]HawaiiUP - 2005-04-06 - Ryan Kawailani Ozawa
Show number seven, again starting off looking a little short but ending up a full half hour and change. I cover stupid crimes and follow up on some earlier stories, then both my daughter Katie and my son Zac get into the act. After a relaxing minute or two on the beach, and some great music, Jen and I tackle "Lost" once again. Finally, I ramble about videoblogging, which you'll be glad to hear I'm not planning on doing very often.

[movies]Hawaii Democratic Caucus - Ryan Kawailani Ozawa
The Hawaii Democratic Caucus was held the evening of Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008. Prior to this year's hotly contested race between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama (who was born in Hawaii), the record turnout for the primary caucus was 4,800 people in 1988. Last night, over 36,000 people turned out to participate. Long lines everywhere, chaos and confusion in several locations, and handmade ballots had to suffice for many when the printed ones ran out...

The Hawaii State Legislature kicks off each session with Opening Day ceremonies, featuring much pomp and circumstance, music, and food. Lots of food. While the speeches and music are a draw, and all the open doors at the State Capitol provide an excellent opportunity for lobbyists and activists to plead their case, most of the crowd packs the halls of government for the free lunch.
