It wouldn't be entirely correct to say that we value quality over quantity here at Oceanbase, but we can see where you might get that idea after listening to this short but salty EP from Scrap Heap. The title track "and" provides slow, smooth ambient techno, and it's sandwiched between two of the most driven, in-your-face beat assaults we've released to date. This EP may be brief, but it's guaranteed to leave an impression, if not an impact crater: Crank up your volume and enjoy.

An Album-a-Day, where I forced myself to record vocals on every song. Some of them came out pretty good. In particular, do not leave this page without hearing "Your Way". The last track, a remix of "Grandiose" from my album Descent, is thrown in as a bonus. Despite the name, it's an okay thing to listen to in the background while you work.

Unstable, gradually evolving organic, volcanic feedback. Hot geyser sprays erupt and fizzle before giving way to a deep earth-moving rumble with an intermittent crackling, as of a fire. "Reverse Eruption" is a longform generative piece that came about as the result of my experimenting with audio software. I set the starting parameters for a series of delays, oscillators, and other effects, let the system run until it became imperceptibly quiet, and this wrote itself...

For my September Album-a-Day, I tried something different. Every track is just my voice, a tapping on a table, and occasionally me playing my bell kit (a miniature xylophone). I improvised and recorded all this in about one hour. Some of it is crappy beyond belief, so unless you appreciate crap art, please try one of my other albums. Standout tracks include "In the Worst of It", "No Time", and "Mainly for Me."

Named in subtle reference to a popular alt-rock band from the '90s.
