I believe The Archive search process you perform is hunting inside the "master" Index File(s) - which gets created by the Indexer, which is supposed to be crawling continuously. If the Indexer is "corrupted", is the Item you're looking for possibly there on The Archive, and the search process says it's not there? My answer is, Yes, it makes sense and seems possible to me. This thread was about what appears to be an Indexer Issue. I believe the Indexer is working just fine. There's probably something happening at the server level, and the Indexer will catch up shortly. As long as you always point to your Internet Archive Items correctly using relative paths, you will always find those items here - if they exist, and if The Archive is "working". For your RatDog question, or anything like that, always use the Advanced Search Form for that......

The traditional naming convention is band abbreviation, date in yyyy-mm-dd format, and then any extensions you want to use. From the recent uploads, here's a good one: http://www.archive.org/details/skce2009-11-08.nak300.flac16 skce is Steve Kimock Crazy Engine. 2009-11-08 is the date. nak300 is the (partial) source, useful for differentiating between multiple sources of the same show. And flac16 indicates the format of the show. As for bad ones, there aren't all that many REALLY bad ones......

[forums]Need a show moved from Open Source Audio to LMA
Posted by JackDog on October 31, 2009 12:22:00pm into etree
I got an e-mail from someone new to the LMA asking for help with a setlist, but they put the show in Open Source Audio instead of the Live Music Archive. Could someone please move it to the correct place and add the setlist? http://www.archive.org/details/Oakhurst2009-10-23VictoriansMidnightCafeColumbusOhio http://www.archive.org/details/Oakhurst the setlist: 01. At 70,022 shows as I type; I'd say that even if a few uploads went to the wrong section (like the movie or video that someone just reported as accidentally having been uploaded to LMA), I think it's safe to say that the LMA has finally reached the 70k mark, which is pretty awesome. We should start thinking about having a party after about 30k more uploads! :) p.s. I'd like to apologize for not posting my Top-Groups-on-LMA lists any more, but some of the recent changes to the Archive broke my (......

There may be some reference info here on archive.org for you, but I don't know where it'd be. Sorry. -- Unfortunately there are lots of decent-to-good-to-excellent options out there. These are prolly some good places to start (even though I don't know how up-to-date they are): For the process: http://www.etree.org/faq_dat-cdr.html For software, see the sidebar here: http://www.etree.org/software.html For hardware, again there's a lot out there......

Posted by Blindhippie on October 26, 2009 08:08:25pm into etree
I left a file off my upload, so I uploaded it separately using the edit feature. I can't figure out how to get it to derive this extra file. The FAQ says this: If you have uploaded new files and you want us to make derivative files (smaller, more compressed versions), you will need to do one more thing. Click "Edit item" Select the "change the files" link Click "Item Manager" Click the "derive" button Which seems simple, except that I must be an idiot because I can't find anything on the......

ok, but PLEASE never remove FTP upload. HAVING to be MANUALLY use a browser to upload files costs time and money. We are writing an automated system (Delphi on windows) so we can just select a file and it will add ID3 tags, normalise the mp3 (say), FTP it, check it in, update a database, and do it all automatically. We dont want to have to do the uploading seperately as that means more staff training......
