A. gray plays the fiddle and John Dilleshaw (more popularly known as Seven Foot Dilly) plays guitar. It is my understanding that "streak of lean, streak of fat" is a reference to a southern side dish called "salt pork," a variation of what used to be known as "bacon." Dilly was much recorded during the twenties, both with Gray, and with his own stringband: Seven Foot Dilly and His Dill Pickles.
