Lucille Hegamin was one of the very first black blues singers to record. "Everybody's Blues" is from her first record, made in November 1920 for the small independent Arto/Bell label. Her recording career lasted into the early 1930s. She is backed on this record by Harris' Blues and Jazz Seven. From the original 78 rpm disk (Bell P-45).

[audio]Pete Kelley Blues - Richard Breen
Pete Kelley Blues (1951) arrived on radio almost two years after Jack Webb reached stardom in Dragnet. All the Webb trademarks were here: the quips, the snappy comebacks, the short-tempered realism. Much of the show's appeal was in the music: Webb was a lifelong fan of hot jazz. This is one of Webb's best shows and the basis of his 1955 film of the same name. [audio]Malaya - The Cave - Malaya
Soundscape-artist Malaya, from Tilburg (Netherlands) is back with a new and âto say the least- terrifying soundscape. Never one to look on the bright side of things, her newest effort âThe Caveâ is her darkest work to date. In this one-take half-hour session Malaya takes you places you never knew existed. If fear, angst and darkness had a sound, it would sound like Malaya.

[audio][dlnet024] - Alexis Perepelycia - Mundo Caos - Alexis Perepelycia
A new comer to the Dreamland camp, Alexis hails from Argentina (which seems to be a growing haven for interesting sound sculptors i.e. Pablo Reche). Serving up four tracks of an almost clinical precision. Sounds consist of tiny microscopic beats atop broken sound scapes of static & scratches, static insect chirping, hum, electronically fried rain samples and who knows what else?
