	Knitwear Rendering - Heung-Yeung Shum Knitwear rendering presents a significant challenge because of the many detailed characteristics of knitwear, such as the microstructure of yarn fibers, variations in stitch patterns, and shape irregularities. 	Rendering Translucent Materials - Steve Marschner This animation demonstrates a new practical model for rendering translucent materials. Translucent materials, such as marble, milk and skin have a soft and smooth appearance that cannot be simulated with standard lighting models. 	Woodrow Wilson Bridge Project - Jeff Coleman A detailed 3D model was created to show the 500-million dollar construction project of a 10-mile section of I-95 at the Virginia / Maryland Border, it includes four multi-level interchanges and a major bridge (Woodrow Wilson Bridge) across the Potomac River. Using AutoCAD Land evelopment and 3D Studio Max 3.1, a multi gigabyte 3D database was created to engineering accuracy. The animation is 19,000 frames long and had to managed so that every time a change was made the project can be re-rendered... An Asian version of the Polar Bear was the aspiration...but with a distinctive Chinese feel, hence the introduction of the magical clay doll family.The miniature city was built and consequently shot by motion control.
