	i can't swim [ansi022] here's something slightly out of character for us... it's beatless to be sure, but it's not quite ambient, in truth. "i can't swim" is a short but demanding listening experience and stands in stark contrast with the majority of the ansiform catalogue. very unsettling on first listen, but it becomes eerily comfortable with increasing familiarity. Smith (DIAL) The recording was done analog, combining conventional instruments such as a Fender Strat.(Jacqui Ham), bass/tapes (Brandau) and drums (Rob Smith). In the mix I used a lot of pedals, echos and my mixing desk, made cutups / samples of some livesounds with a little SU10 and arranged a complete new track: Pacifica. This is old school improvisation with analog sounds edited and mastered in the digital age...
