[movies]"Rocky King, Detective" - Murder Scores a Knockout (Classic TV)
1952 Episode "Murder Scores a Knockout" of the low-budget DuMont Television Network series "Rocky King, Detective". The series ran from 1950 to 1955, and it's believed most of the master-prints were destroyed after the show was cancelled (Nobody bothered to look after the DuMont Network archive after it went bankrupt)...

[movies]"Cavalcade of Stars": The Schaller Brothers (Trampolining act)
Clip from "Cavalcade of Stars" featuring the trampolining act The Schaller Brothers. Pretty typical of low-budget DuMont Television Network, famous for airing anything which moved. But like much DuMont progamming, this clip is surprisingly entertaining and shows that TV doesn't need a big budget. This also shows The DuMont Network's love of vaudeville-type programming.

[movies]1949 episode of the TV series "Captain Video"
Rare 1949 episode of the TV series "Captain Video and His Video Rangers", considered by many to be the "Plan 9 from Outer Space" of Classic TV. The show is about a "Space Captain" and his "Video Ranger" who must the galaxy from the evil Dr. Pauli. Low production values, bad acting and bad writing combine to create a very surreal TV show. The show was live, which would explain the missed cues. It's believed most of the master prints were destroyed after the show was cancelled...

[movies]1949 Public Service Announcement
A 1949 Public Service Announcement aired on the DuMont Television Network, reminding the young viewers of "Captain Video" that "freedom is everybody's job". This features the same background as the 1950 PSA I uploaded. DuMont was a cheap network, but in fact, they did a lot of good things, like airing the complete McCathy hearings (sadly no footage remains from their coverage). One must give them credit for good intentions.

1954 Episode of the rare Classic TV show "Sense and Nonsense", a low-budget kids game show produced by a small local TV station. Another incredibly strange episode of ''Captain Video and His Video Rangers'', the DuMont Television Network series which, in fact, was the first science fiction show ever to air on TV. [movies]Classic Television for Coca-Cola (Number 2)
Another classic commercial for Coca-Cola, a charming old commercial from February 19, 1954. This aired as part of WABD-TV's "Sense and Nonsense" program, and the complete telecast has also been uploaded by me several months ago. WABD-TV was the flagship station of the legendary DuMont Television Network, one can see a good example of DuMont's always interesting set design in this commercial. Also of note, is that this Coca-Cola commercial was funded by a Coca-Cola Bottling plant, hence the empha...
