![[audio]](/images/mediatype_audio.gif) | And So All Israel Shall be Saved - Stephen Allen After writing about the olive tree in Romans 11, Sha'ul wrote three interesting statements. He told the Romans that he explained the olive tree to them to prevent them from continuing in their conceited attitudes. He connected the olive tree to the "melo ha-goyim" [fulness of the Gentiles] of Bereshit/Genesis 48:19. Finally, he concluded, "And so all Israel shall be saved." What do all of these things have to do with his explanation of the olive tree, and how are they connected to each other? ![[audio]](/images/mediatype_audio.gif) | The Olive Tree in the Tanakh - Stephen Allen The "olive tree" that Sha'ul [Paul] mentioned in Romans 11:16b-27 is a midrash [expository teaching] on the olive tree that is mentioned in Yirmeyahu [Jeremiah] 11:16-17. He even includes relevant concepts from Yechezqel [Ezekiel] 37:15-28. Therefore, in order to properly interpret Sha'ul's olive tree, we must understand the meaning of Yirmeyahu's and Yechezqel's trees. ![[audio]](/images/mediatype_audio.gif) | The Olive Tree of Romans 11 - Stephen Allen Sha'ul's [Paul's] olive tree metaphor in Romans 11 explained in the context of Israelite history, in the context of the prophecies found in Yirmeyahu [Jeremiah] and Yechezqel [Ezekiel], and in the context of Sha'ul's entire letter to the Romans. What is the tree? Which branches have been broken off? Which branches have the opportunity of being grafted back in? What determines whether a branch is attached to the tree or not? Do you know for sure? ![[audio]](/images/mediatype_audio.gif) | Why Sha'ul Wrote About the Olive Tree - Stephen Allen Sha'ul [Paul] wrote about the olive tree in Romans 11, but why did he write about it in the first place? Do you know why? He was writing to combat numerous erroneous ideas and attitudes that were rampant within the Roman Messianic assemblies. Do you know what wrong beliefs and arrogant opinions he was correcting? If not, then this audio lesson is for you!
