[movies]The Plow That Broke The Plains (by Pare Lorentz) - Pare Lorentz
This is a record of land... of soil rather than people -- a story of the Great Plains; the 400,000,000 acres of wind-swept grass lands that spread up from the Texas panhandle to Canada... A high, treeless continent, without rivers, without streams... A country of high winds, and sun... and of little rain... By 1880 we had cleared the Indian, and with him, the buffalo, from the Great Plains, and established the last frontier.....

[movies]Millions of Us: The Musical - American Labor Productions / The Blairs
While searching for public domain material for other videos, I found Millions of Us in the Prelinger Archives (http://www.archive.org/details/millions_of_us) and decided to have some fun with it. Briefly, the film tells the story of an unemployed, homeless man who, out of desperation, tries to cross a picket line to work, only to have a union organizer help him see the error of his ways. I loved the spirit of the film and tried to capture that in song, writing to fit the existing scenes...
