![[movingimage]](/images/mediatype_movingimage.gif) | Manticore at Olde Club, 2005-03-19 - Nelson Pavlosky This is part of the set of a local Swarthmore College band named Manticore, featuring Ben Saller on guitar, Jason Horwitz on drums, and I believe James Crall on bass? Manticore was formerly known as Rocktopus, and Ben Saller was in A Little To The Left before that. The band played in Olde Club, and the video was shot from the first floor, rather than the balcony. This turned out better than my taping of the Love Pumps, even though I did like the cool aerial-type shots that I got from the balcony... ![[movies]](/images/mediatype_movies.gif) | Lessig speaks at Swarthmore - Nelson Pavlosky This is a video of Lawrence Lessig speaking at the launch of FreeCulture.org, April 23rd 2004. Sadly, the last roughly 3 minutes of the speech, right when Lessig gives the rousing call to action, is missing, due to my camcorder running out of tape and the other two videocameras in the room failing (redundancy, redundancy, redundancy!) Fortunately, the extended Q&A session is included, and that's interesting as always. Keywords: Lawrence Lessig; Swarthmore College; free culture Downloads: 1,375 Average rating: (0 review) | |

![[movies]](/images/mediatype_movies.gif) | The Love Pumps at Olde Club, 2005-03-19 This is part of the set of a local Swarthmore College band. It's a shaky camcorder videotape of the show taken from the inside balcony of Olde Club, a student space here on campus. Unfortunately the bassist is entirely obscured by a speaker, but everyone else is viewable. The Love Pumps are Jason Horwitz, Scott Young, Jody Fisher, Emiliano Rodriguez, and damned if I can tell who the bassist is. UPDATE: The bassist is Jon Fombonne... In this particular segment, director Paul Donahue asks Nelson a really good question: what difference would it make for Diebold to have produced a voting machine with open source code? Nelson says that first of all, remember that open source software is not pixie dust, and is not going to solve all software problems...
